Structure > Elements >Length and Angles > Copy

Copying the Beta angle, or orientation of spring elements respectively, from one element to other elements

SettingDescription
From/To/Step Elements, whose respective geometry parameters shall be modified.
Option Deck Standard case (element predominantly horizontal)
Option Pier Element vertical or predominantly vertical
XL Clear length of the element
Note: The length of spring elements is zero per definition. Non-zero values entered by the user or calculated by the program are accepted  by the program, however, they are not considered in the analysis.
Beta Rotation angle of the local coordinate system around the element axis reference axis of the cross-sections in accordance with cross-section assignment.
Note: If a cross-section eccentricity is assigned to the element with YlZo, YoZl  or YlZl, the rotation is applied to the thereby defined cross-section reference point. I.e. new eccentricities are generated and the element axis will be displaced in space.
Alpha 1 Elevation angle of the element axis (co-domain -90° to 90°)
Alpha 2 Plan angle of the element axis (co-domain 0° to 360°)
Note: The angles Beta, Alpha1, and Alpha2 describe the local coordinate system and are user defined fo spring elements (default: 0.0, 0.0, 0.0).  For beam and cable elements, only the angle Beta can be modified by the user.
